Buhari’s Minister, Onu, APC guber candidate fails to deliver Ebonyi LGAs

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu has failed to deliver their wards and local government area to the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari lost to Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Onu’s local government, ‘Ohaozara LGA’ was said to have a total of 84079 registered voters, in which 37256 were accredited, but APC scored 2058 votes while PDP scored a total of 33651 votes.

The state Presidential collation Officer, Prof. Frank Chukwuma Eze made this known while announcing the results of the election collected so far at the INEC headquarters in Abakaliki.

However, a total of four local government areas election results have been announced, in which the Presidential candidate of PDP, Atiku Abubakar, floored APC candidate, Buhari with high margin.

He noted that in Ohaozara LGA, APC scored 2058 while PDP scored 33651, but in Ivo LGA APC scored 1,945 while PDP scored 12,471.

Recall that, the minister hails from the same local government area with the Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi.

In Afikpo North LGA, APC scored 5,356 while PDP scored 20,070. In Afikpo south LGA, the hometown of the gubernatorial candidate of APC in Ebonyi state, Sen. Sunny Ogbuorji, APC scored 6391 while PDP scored 12181.

However, it was gathered that there was a pocket of apathy in some polling units in Ebonyi, as voters who came out to vote were not commensurate with the number of registered voters.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi has rejected the results of the presidential election in Afikpo South and Afikpo North as announced by the collation officers from the two local government areas.

The party agent, Eze Nwachukwu, made this known on Sunday shortly after the presidential results from the two local government areas were announced at the state collation centres.

But, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the state, chief Nwaebonyi Onyekachi, expressed optimism on the victory of the presidential candidate of PDP, especially with the results declared so far.
