A former Governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo, on Sunday called on Nigerians to give President Muhammadu Buhari time to actualize his change agenda.
Nwobodo, who had defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, said “with time, the change will be manifested.”
He made the declaration shortly after attending a reception organised in his honour by Bigard Memorial Seminary, Enugu.
While re-stating that the change would come, he however, averred that the change might not come exactly the time we want it, advising Nigerians to be patient.
The former Governor, who built a library Complex for Bigard Seminary when he was a governor, said though there were challenges facing the country, he was optimistic that the change was bound to bring out some pleasant surprises.
He commended President Buhari over the ongoing implementation of the Single Treasury Account, (TSA) expressing happiness that Nigeria had gotten a lot of funds through the implementation of the (TSA).
Reacting to the reception organised in his honour by the authorities of Bigard Memorial Seminary, the former Anambra Governor, said he was overwhelmed and happy that he was remembered.
Nwobodo, expressed happiness that brilliant young men decided to leave everything in the world to serve God, assuring them that they would be rewarded.
Describing the seminary as the biggest in the world, he recalled that he was instrumental to the famous visit of the then pope of the Catholic Church to the seminary when he was governor.
Going down memory lane, senator Nwobodo, further recalled that when he was detained and released it in the past, Bigard also entertained him, adding that “the Catholic Church assisted me so much when I had challenges in the past.”
Earlier in his speech, the Rector of Bigard Memorial Seminary, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Albert Okechukwu Ikpenwa, commended Nwobodo for donating a library to the seminary, describing the library as one the best in the country.
