In his continued determination to enhance the fortunes of the Nigerian youth, the Special Assistant to the President on Youth and Students Affairs, Nasir Adhama has begun discussions with Nigerian-born football stars to assist in achieving the ‘One Youth, One Mentor Initiative’.
Consequently, he has met with Super Eagles stars, Mikel Obi and Odion Ighalo to discuss on how they can positively impact Nigerian Youths through the One Youth, One Mentor initiative.
Adhama also met with Under 23 coach, Samson Siasia on the same subject.
An initiative of the Office of the Special Assistant to the president on Youth and Students Affairs (OSAPYSA), the One Youth, One Mentor programme is designed to provide guidance to the youths by an expert in needed skills to live productive lives.
Adhama who shared a picture on his Facebook platform to talk about his meeting with the football stars said: ”In pursuit of the #OneYouthOneMentor initiative, I am delighted with the support of Nigerian Professional Players John Mikel Obi, Watford striker Odion Jude Ighalo and Nigeria Under 23 Coach Samson Siasia to mentor youth with promising talent in football.
“Let’s emulate this by taking this campaign to the next level and challenging ourselves to take at least one ‘mentee’.
“We all can make a difference in someone’s life. You don’t need to be a traditional ruler, a political office holder, a sportsman nor a successful businessman to make a difference.”
The presidential aide had recently unveiled series of empowerment programmes including entering into partnership Huawei Technologies to train at least 2, 000 youth in ICT.
