President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, over the passing of his father, Alhaji Umaru Badami.

The President has now reacted in a statement signed by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity on Monday which was made available to DAILY POST.

In the statement, Buhari described the deceased as “humble, hardworking, generous, disciplined and God-fearing”.

While applauding the deceased’s patriotic services to his fatherland, community and humanity, the President urged the bereaved to “keep alive the salutary values which their late father embodied.

“I pray Almighty God to console those who mourn the departed ex-serviceman and grant his soul rest.”

Before his death, the 82-year-old was an ex-serviceman who retired from the Army in 1984.
