The amount budgeted for feeding for the offices of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, has been slashed in the 2018 budget.

In the line item identified as “foodstuff and catering material supplies”, both Buhari and Osinbajo’s offices got N149million, which is N18million less than the N167million budgeted for the same purpose in 2017.

Buhari got N98.3million, while Osinbajo got N50.8million.

A copy of the recently-passed budget shows that Aso Rock got N145million as allocation for “foodstuff and catering material supplies”, N22million lesser than the N123million it got in 2017 budget.

There is also a separate sum of N44million budgeted for “refreshment and meals” for the president and vice president.

The sum of N25.7million goes to Buhari’s office, while Osinbajo’s office gets N18.3million.

But there was no provision for the item for the two offices in the 2017 budget.
