Buhari insulted women folks by relegating his wife, Aisha to the kitchen – PDP youths

The Peoples Democratic Party National Youth Frontiers (PDPNYF) has described as unfortunate the recent statement credited to President Muhammadu Buhari, describing his wife, Aisha as a kitchen material.

Aisha had in a controversial interview with BBC Hausa taken a swipe at her husband’s government, saying he didn’t know his appointees.

In a swift reaction, Buhari said that his wife belongs to the kitchen and not the political terrain.

Reacting however, the PDP youth group in a statement in Abuja, by its National Coordinator, Usman Okai Austin, said the utterance of Buhari had dragged the country back to the extant time.

“The ‎outbursts of the president’s wife about his posture to governance is quite unfortunate and mismatch to the expectations of Nigerians and to worsen it, the response of President Buhari relegating his wife to his room and kitchen shows that Nigeria has been dragged to many centuries backward.

“It is unfortunate that a president who left Nigeria for Germany demeaned women right in front of Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor, who happened to be a woman.”

The youth frontier advised the president and his team to settle down for real governance and impact dividends of democracy to the yearnings of Nigerians instead of the far cry of domesticating Nigeria’s problem on the pages of newspapers.

The statement further claimed that a member of the party, Ali Modu Sheriff was working secretly with the current governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai as well as other top members of the opposition ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The group added that it will not fold its arms and allow the inordinate ambition of Sheriff drag the hand of the clock for the democratic advancement of Nigeria to many steps backward owing to his collaboration with the APC, whose change mantra had become unrealistic and unacceptable to Nigerians.

“We cannot fold our ‎arms in the party and sacrifice a robustly built democratic empire, which spans for 16 years, exchange with a regime that the president will not listen to even the wife who is in a better position to advise him on some critical issues that boarders on the welfare of Nigerians,” it added.
