Buhari grieves over Yobe school bombing

Nigeria’s former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, has expressed deep pain and sadness over Monday’s suicide bomb attack at the Government Comprehensive Science Technical College in Potiskum, Yobe State which left 48 persons dead with over 70 others currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained from the dastardly act.

Buhari, who noted in a post on his Facebook page that “words alone cannot convey the full solemnity of my grief,” described victims of the attack as ‘innocent’ and the perpetrators as ‘evil’.

The presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, while observing that “there is no doubt that we are going through a dark chapter in the history of this country,” enjoined Nigerians to “take solace in the conviction that our unity will prevail over this evil in whatever name it is being committed”.

In his words: “As citizens, we can always ask the government to do more to protect the public and eradicate threats. And the government can only achieve that by prioritizing national security and not its own political survival”.

The former Head of State ended his post by noting that his thoughts and prayers are with families of the victims as well as the people and government of Yobe State.
