President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday says the death of the All Progressives Congress’ candidate in the Saturdays inconclusive governorship election in Kogi State has left him devastated.
Buhari in a statement through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said he received the news with shock.
The President said, “We are obviously devastated at the loss.”
While eulogising the deceased, Buhari described him as a talented politician, a loving family head and a respected community leader.
Buhari noted that Audu ran as the favourite in the Saturday’s election as early results showed it.
