Buhari capable of salvaging Nigeria from current ‘woes’ – Tambuwal


The Speaker of the House of Representatives and All Progressives Congress, APC’s gubernatorial candidate in Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, has hailed the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari and Yemi Osinbajo as the party’s presidential candidates, saying Mr. Buhari is capable of saving Nigeria from its current “woes”.

Mr. Tambuwal spoke on Friday at the monthly APC Stakeholders meeting in Sokoto, expressing happiness for the candidacy of Mr. Buhari and his running mate, Mr. Osinbajo.

He also thanked the Sokoto people for giving him the APC gubernatorial ticket in the state.

Also speaking at the meeting, Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State said the APC would set up a reconciliation and campaign committees across the state soon.

Mr. Wamakko said the committees would reconcile all aggrieved members and aspirants who lost at the primaries.

He said the measures were being taken to further strengthen the party in the state.

“The reconciliation committees will pacify all aggrieved aspirants of the party at all levels, with a view to wooing them,” he said.

He added that “the campaign committees will be set up to show that the party is not complacent’’, stressing that it was determined to emerge victorious at 2015 general polls.

Mr. Wamakko also noted that contrary to speculations, the party was blossoming to greater heights, and commended members and elders of the party their discipline, loyalty and prayers.

The Acting Chairman of the party in the state, Usman Danmadamin-Isa, assured that party members would work relentlessly to ensure success of the party at all levels at the polls.
