The Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Amnesty and Niger Delta Affairs, Hon. Kingsley Kuku at the weekend boasted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari will not score up to 25 percent votes in Ondo State, in this week’s Presidential polls.

Kuku stated this while addressing reporters shortly after he and one of the State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftains, Chief Olusola Oke had met with aggrieved party members in the northern senatorial district area of the state in Owo local government on the need to sheathe their swords and support Jonathan for a second.

Kuku and Oke met with old PDP members in the three senatorial districts, who were aggrieved since the defection of Governor Olusegun Mimiko to the party. They conveyed the President’s message to them, promising that if they support him, he would never neglect them again.

Kuku urged the party members to see the defection of Mimiko as a great value to the party, noting that previous elections have always been between the governor and the old PDP.

He added that with the coming of the governor, it would make it difficult for any political party, particularly APC to score 25 percent votes in the state.

His words, “I have told you before that the coming of Mimiko to PDP can only add value and surely it has added value but in adding this value, you cannot also deny the fact that some people still remain anger and are showing apathy. These are not people who belong to the hold Labour Party but they are people belong to the old PDP.

“It is true that the governor has campaigned round the state with us and it is also correct that the current Chairman of the party, Clement Faboyede is also doing as we are talking now, town hall meetings in all local government. The people left are those who are still showing apathy and the moment you add these people with what you have been able to benefit from the campaign of the President and that of the state executive, it get better and it cannot get worst.

” I still believe that the APC will be denied the 25 percent on elections day. That is why you are seeing us going to the nookies and grannies of the entire states to get those who are showing apathy. The governor coming is no mistep is a very beautiful thing that he joined our party”

Oke appealed to the aggrieved party members to see that there is no any other alternative to PDP and Jonathan.

He noted that Jonathan’s administration had brought smiles on the faces of many Nigeria through some of his policies.

“For the first time in this country, our economy has become the largest in Africa. It was due to proper management of economy by Mr. President. Go to aviation sector, it is fantastic, we have never have it has good in the country. Go to our road network, it has been the best. The empowerment of our people has been the best.

” I think our people both in the south, north and central are appreciative of these irrespective of their anger, they know there is no alternative to PDP, no alternative to President Jonathan. So they have come out in one accord to resolve that we will mobilise our people and show the strength of Ondo State in support of Mr. President”.
