Buhari approves Umar Hassan’s appointment as Provost of FCE Okene

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr. Umar Hassan as the substantive Provost of the Federal College of Education, Okene, Kogi State.

This was made known in a statement issued by the Acting Deputy Director, Directorate of Information of the College, Jibril Abdulrahman.

The statement said the appointment was back dated to “take effect from September 26, 2017.”

It added that “until his appointment, Dr. Umar Hassan was a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Physical and Health Education, Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto.

“He holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Health Education from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.”

Born on 20th April, 1961 in Gusau, Dr. Umar Hassan had his early education at S.M.I Primary School, Gusau, from 1967 1973.

He obtained his Bachelors of Education degree in Physical and Health-Education in 1984 from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and moved ahead to bag his Masters degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Ibadan in 1990.
