Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has disclosed that he is not ready to take any risk with the fitness of captain, Antonio Valencia, midfielder Nemanja Matic or forward, Jesse Lingard by featuring them against Brighton & Hove Albion in Sunday’s Premier League clash at the Amex Stadium.
The trio all missed United’s 2-1 victory over Leicester City in their EPL opener, with Valencia and Matic carrying minor injuries, while Lingard only recently returned to pre-season training.
Mourinho, however, believes Valencia, Matic and Lingard are all fully fit but not yet ready to play this weekend against Albion.
“Lingard, Matic and Valencia are training with the team since yesterday,” Sportmole quoted Mourinho as saying at Friday’s pre-match conference.
“They are fully fit, but not yet ready to play or even be selected I think.”
United head to the game following a 2-1 victory against Leicester City last week Friday at the Old Trafford.
Brighton on the other hand, were beaten by Watford 2-0 in their EPL opener.
