Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, believes Samuel Kalu will be one of the important players for his side, in next month’s international friendly against Brazil.
Rohr watched the winger at close quarters, as Bordeaux were defeated 1-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in the Ligue 1 on Saturday and was not satisfied with his performance.
“He will be useful for us against Brazil.
“Like the team, he did not try enough, we did not see his qualities of dribbling, speed,” Rohr was quoted as saying by Sud Ouest.
Josh Maja was an unused substitute against PSG and Rohr says he is keeping tabs on the former Sunderland starlet, having made his debut off the bench against the Ukrainians.
He added: “He deserved his first selection and is not far from the 23.”
