Head coach of Brazil, Tite has admitted that his side cannot neutralise Argentina captain, Lionel Messi, when both sides clash in Wednesday’s 2019 Copa America semi-final fixture.
Messi has scored just a goal so far in the competition but Tite believes the Barcelona superstar is unstoppable.
Tite, however, hopes his team can find a way to slow Messi down on Wednesday.
Brazil head to the game after defeating Paraguay 4-3 on penalties in the quarter-final while Argentina defeated Venezuela 2-0.
“We spoke not only of the individuality of Argentina. They have grown in collective terms as well,” Tite was quoted by Goal as saying at a news conference on Tuesday.
“The collective enhances individuality. You don’t cancel out Messi, no, you can slow his actions, but you cannot neutralise his actions.
“Just as [Philippe] Coutinho does not neutralise himself, [Roberto] Firmino, David Neres. They will, at some point, be decisive.”
