Brazil 2014: FIFA confirms dates for final round of qualifying matches for African nations

FIFA has announced that dates for the final round of African qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup.

The draws will be held in Cairo on September 16, with the top ten teams from the current phase paired against each other, for just five slots.

The top five teams according to FIFA rankings will be seeded. South Africa are unlikely to make it out of their pool, except the world football governing body punishes Ethopia. That means they could meet Ghana, Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia or Nigeria.

The first legs of the play-offs will be polayed between October 11-15, while the second legs will take place on November 15 – 19.
