Boy stabs elder brother to death over dirty dishes

It was all tears in Majente Street, Akute in Ogun State, following the death of a 25-year-old Chikwado Agbamone, who was stabbed to death by his younger brother identified as Ekene after an altercation on who to wash dirty plates.

Trouble was said to have ensued between Kenneth and Ekene on July 14, when Kenneth returned from church at about 9pm only to notice that his younger brother, Ekene did not wash the dirty dishes, this led to a serious argument between them.

Chikwado before leaving for church service was said to have prepared rice, and served his mother, who was a trader in the street, where the family resides. Upon his return, he observed that Ekene did not wash the dirty dishes, he got him infuriated and insisted that Ekene do the dishes.

Ekene’s refusal to carry out the task set before him led to a heated altercation between the two brothers and at a point, Kenneth brought out his belt with which he descended on Ekene before leaving the house.

Upon the deceased return to the house, Ekene who was hiding behind the door armed with a knife allegedly stabbed Chikwado on the left side of his chest.

Chikwado’s body was only discovered by their mother, Cynthia who walked into the room. Her loud scream for help attracted neighbours, who rushed in only to discover what Ekene has done.

The body of Chikwado was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead.
