The Nigeria Military on Tuesday morning repelled what could have been another deadly attack by the Boko Haram insurgents in Konduga local government area of Borno state.
DAILY POST gathered that, the insurgents came into the town at about 5:00am but met strong resistance from the army who battled them out.
Our reporter observed that following recent attacks, tension has remained very high in Maiduguri town to the effect that students of the University of Maiduguri are now undergoing serious check by security operatives before being allowed into the campus.
A ban on students entering the campus with their vehicle has also imposed as only lecturers are now allowed into the institution with their vehicle after rigorous checks and identification.
The civilian JTF have also been put on red alert as rumour has it that female suicide bombers now prowl Maiduguri with the intention of detonating IEDs within unsuspecting crowd in the town.
It could be recalled that, already 4 female suicide bombers have claimed the lives of over 100 people in two incidents at the Maiduguri Monday Market recently.
Report also has it that about 50 female suicide bombers were given the target of bombing 100, 000 people within Maiduguri before the end of this year. The information was divulged by one of the female suicide bombers who was reportedly arrested by members of the civilian JTF and handed over to security operatives.
Speaking to one of the security operative at the gate, two of the University of Maiduguri, he told DAILY POST that, a successful attack on Konduga means that the insurgents can easily take over Maiduguri as they did in Yobe on Monday.
According to him, the soldiers are doing everything possible to ensure that the insurgents do not get the slightest opportunity of launching attack on Maiduguri.
