Borno: JTF rescues three girls kidnapped in Maiduguri

The Joint Task Force, operation restore order in Borno state has said that information at their disposal indicates that, Boko Haram sect members have devised an alternative strategy of kidnapping unsuspecting victim through the use taxis along major roads and highways to kidnap teenage girls.

The JTF in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday, in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital said in view of the ugly development, it was important to alert and sensitise members of the public about the new method employed by the Boko Haram terrorists to kidnap innocent citizens, particularly girls and young women.

JTf said three teenage girls were at different times and places kidnapped in Maiduguri within the last ten days, using the same method.

According to the JTF, the girls were lucky to have been rescued by the military and handed over to their respective families. He urged members of the public to be careful with the kind of vehicles they board, particularly, while on routine shuttles.
