Report reaching our news desk has it that an explosion just occurred at the Gombe Central market in the heart of the Gombe State capital.
A resident of the troubled community, who gave his name as Ibrahim Mohammed, told Punch that the blast ripped through the market at about 5.32 pm on Thursday.
Mohammed, who said he was not far from the scene of the explosion, said the number of casualties had yet to be known at the moment as rescue team was busy trying to evacuate the dead from the site.
“I saw rescue workers and security agents mobilising to evacuate the dead and the injured,” he added.
