Boko Haram: Why parents of Chibok girls are not going to Cameroon – Dr. Manasseh

Dr. Allen Manasseh, an activist from Chibok who has been speaking on behalf of the Chibok community and member of the ‘Bringback Our girls’ group has expressed frustration with regard to the manner the Federal Government is handling the issue of alleged arrest of some suspected suicide bombers believed to be abducted Chibok girls in Cameroon.

Dr. Allen, in a phone interview on Monday told DAILY POST that, the whole issue of setting up committee for a trip to Cameroon to confirm the claim of the suspected bombers was a flop as according to him, there was no concrete arrangement.

He said, the minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Aisha Alhassan who was supposed to lead the team has not been in the country for over a week now and has delegated one of the President’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, who currently has no access to logistics to travel.

Dr. Manasseh said, “No parent of the Chibok girls is going to Cameroon but representative of the abducted girls, who is the chairman representing the abducted Chibok girls parents in the person of Malam Yakubu Nkeki and Hajiya Yana Galang. These are the two going with the committee if the Federal Government is ready with funds.

” But for now, it is only story. We are suppose to be contacted and we have been waiting since they announced that a committee is going. However, nobody is talking about it now because they said there is no money. But the issue of any parent of Chibok girl going is not true. Those who are going to represent the Chibok girls’ parents as I told you are Malam Yakubu Nkeki and Hajiya Yana Galang.”
