Boko Haram: Troops rescue 14 children, 6 women from terrorists camps in Bama, Sambisa


In continuation of the offensive operations to clear the northeast of Boko Haram Terrorists, troops of the 103 Battalion stationed in Konduga, on Saturday, conducted 23 kilometers wide clearance operations in Rigaga and its adjourning villages in Bama axis.

Col. Tukur Gusau revealed that the operations recorded a major success as four Boko Haram enclaves along the route of the operations were cleared and a number of terrorists were killed, while two were captured alive and currently undergoing investigation in accordance with the Nigerian Army rules of engagement.

The troops according to the spokesman of Operation Lafiya Dole were also able to rescue 20 people held in captivity by the terrorists in the area.

“Those rescued include 14 children and 6 women. The rescued persons are currently receiving medical and other necessary attention in our facilities”, he said.

Similarly, in furtherance to offensive operations towards the clearance of Lagaran Fulani and Ango Baya villages, Col. Tukur Gusau said. Troops of 28 Task Force Brigade conducted reconnesance patrol to identify possible blocking position along Bitta Yamteke road.

According to Gusau, during the conduct of the operation, troops recovered the 2 cylinders, 1 Motorola radio, 1 Garmin GPS detonating cords and 1 x RPG boms at Sasawa terrorists’ camp.
