Boko Haram: Troops arrest village head, 42 others in Borno


Troops along Damboa and Chibok axis have arrested 43 persons, who are said to be unknown vigilante with Ak-47 riffles during an ongoing operations in the area.

Operation Lafiya Dole’s Media Coordinator, Col. Mustapha Anka said, those arrested include someone who claimed to be the Village Head of Kopchi.

According to Col. Anka, they claimed to be operating around Madagali general area, but were carrying 6 AK-47 riffles and 15 Magazines.

“When accosted, the suspects claimed that they were in Damboa to identify a suspected Boko Haram Terrorist in Kaya village, but seen with Ak-47 riffles, they were suspected to be BHT trying to disguise and they have been arrested and currently in custody undergoing interrogation.” Col. Anka said.

In another development, Troops of 25 Task Force on routine operation to clear Ajigin had contact with Boko Haram Terrorists, and in the process, several insurgents were killed, 50 motorcycles and 3 vehicles were recovered and destroyed.
