Ten persons reportedly lost their lives, while 21 others were injured as Boko Haram terrorists attacked residents of Molai, along Maiduguri, Damboa, Biu road in Borno State.
Residents of the area were thrown into confusion as bomb explosion ripped the city Tuesday night.
Residents said the explosion was heard around Molai Kura, an outskirt along the Maiduguri, Damboa road.
DAILY POST reports that the development forced some residents to flee their homes.
Although there is no official report as at the time of filling this report, sources hinted that the first explosion, which went off around 10:15 pm, was followed by another one.
He added that at an interval of one hour, the third explosion was heard.
A local, Bukar Alhaji Modu, who assisted in evacuation of both the dead and the injured told DAILY POST that three female suicide bombers and a male were involve in the suicide attacks on residents of Molai area.
Another source, a nurse at the state specialists hospital, who did not want her name and in print said some of the causalties brought to the hospital were sent to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital due to lack of equipment as their case was beyond what they have on ground.
“I don’t know how many that died but some human parts are at the morgue. It is so sad. I learnt some of the victims opened their door to one of the suicide bombers, who knock on their door, thinking it was a neighbour”, she added.
The Borno Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Victor Isuku confirmed that the state police Commissioner, Mr. Damian Chukwa was proceeding to the area for on the spot assessment of the situation.
