The Joint Task Force on Operation Restore Order in Borno has said that available information to the task force indicates that the Boko Haram sect have in a desperate move resorted to anonymous threat text massages and written note to selected individuals especially traders, contractors, politicians and government officials demanding large amount of money to be used for certain purposes including building of mosques.
The JTF in a statement signed by Lt. Col Sagir Musa and made available to newsmen on Friday, in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital urged members of the public to be on alert to monitor the unfortunate development and also warned that whoever succumbs to the ploy and channels money or resources to Boko Haram sect will be uncovered, arrested and treated as an accomplice and financier of the sect.
JTF had asked members of the public to forward such massages to the Headquarters of the JTF through the under listed Hotlines: 08064174066, 07085464012 and 080154429346 for action to be taken.
