Following the motion on the spate of insurgency by Senator Ahmadu Abubakar representing Adamawa South Senatorial District, the Senate has resolved to send a high powered delegation to visit Adamawa State.

In the sponsored motion, Ahmadu said, “Several thousands of people have been killed and property with billions of Naira destroyed as a result of the nefarious activities of the insurgents”,

The Senate, however, noted with disgust the involvement of teenage female suicide bombers, particularly on 23rd October, 2015 in a Mosque in Yola.

“The Senate is disturbed that on Friday, 23rd October, 2015, a teenage suicide bomber disguised as a worshiper, detonated explosives that killed many worshipers at Jambutu Jamma’at Mosque in Yola, Adamawa State which about 40 people died and more than 100 were critically injured”, the Senate said.

Taking prayers in favour of the motion, the Senate further resolved that the Senate Leader, Ali Ndume would lead the team in company of 8 others, including all Senators from the state.
