The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika, has lauded his Igbo brethren for not embarking on a revenge mission against Northerners in the East during the kano bomb attacks and in other parts of the North that claimed several lives.

The Army boss noted that if Ndigbo had made such move, the sect members, would have achieved their aim of making the country ungovernable.

Ihejirika stated this at the Army Officers’ Mess, Military Cantonment, Onitsha, Anambra State, during the commissioning of some refurbished military vehicles, including prime movers, ammunition carriers and command post vehicles.

He hoped that with the help of President Goodluck Jonathan and the Onitsha business community, the outlawed sect would soon be kicked out of Nigeria and other neighboring countries.

While commending the Onitsha business community for the support and co-operation given to his officers and men in the commercial city, he urged them not to relent in their efforts.

Ihejirika said, “My officers and men are here to do a peculiar and selfless job for mankind”.

Leading businessmen who were present at the ceremony included the chairman of Anambra State Security Trust Fund and chairman of GUO Group of Companies Limited, Chief G. U. Okeke; the chairman of Lake Petroleum Limited, Chief Cletus Mbaji, among others.
