The Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division, Nigerian Army Brigadier General Victor Ezugwu has expressed happiness over the conduct of troops of 3 Battalion, Gamboru Ngala, stressing that their recent performance, in clearing Boko Haram Terrorists is encouraging.
General Victor stated this on Thursday at Rann, Headquarters of Kala Balge Local Government Area, which was captured by the troops in a battle.
The GOC was earlier welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 3 Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Igwe Omoke, who briefed him on achievements within the few days they were inducted into Operation Lafiya Dole.
General Ezugwu commended the gallantry of the officers and soldiers, and assured them of the Division’s adequate logistics and operational support.
He also toured the locations and interacted with the members of the civilian JTF.
Earlier, General Ezugwu stopped at the Headquarters of 22 Brigade Dikwa where he was received by the Commander, Brigadier General Benjamin Sawyer.
The GOC, inspected the Quarter Guard and was given a detailed brief on the Theatre of Operation Lafiya Dole and its achievements.
The GOC used the forum to appreciate the troops on their successes since arrival and promised to provide the unit with necessary logistics, equipment and purposeful leadership.
The GOC’s tour from Gamboru Ngala to Kala Balge witnessed rousing welcome by hundreds of villagers along the way.
In a similar development, the Acting GOC, paid an operational visit to the Headquarters 21 Brigade Bama, where he was received by the new Acting Commander, Colonel Adamu Laka.
During the visit to Bama, the GOC and his entourage toured the frontlines of Ngurosoye, Banki Junction and Konduga where he urged the troops to remain committed to the noble course.
He thereafter proceeded to Alau Dam where he inspected the newly acquired Gunboats.
The visit to Alau Dam witnessed a Gunboat ride round the Dam, meant to ensure safety of the entire general area of the Dam.
In another development, the GOC hosted a batch of British Liaison Support Team, headed by Colonel Brown.
