Boko Haram: FG renew assault as drones begin to patrol Nigeria’s borders

Dailypost has reliably gathered that at least two drones are presently patrolling Nigeria-chad border, Niger- nigeria border, and Cameroon- Nigeria border.

This is in line with the Federal Government renewed assault on members of dreaded sect, Boko Haram, who are allegedly preparing for more violent attacks.

Backed by its foreign allies, Abuja is keen on ensuring that the group do not take advantage of the country’s porous borders to strike.

A source said, “There are now serious drone patrols here in Sokoto State on air and other means of security surveillances ongoing, most especially across the borders. Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Army and other operatives are in here.”

It has not yet been established if the drone belongs to the Nigerian government or any of the world power.

However, another source within the presidency confirmed to Dailypost that the government has ordered for “some powerful drones”.

President Goodluck Jonathan during his recent official visit to Borno and Yobe states told a stakeholders forum that his administration would not grant amnesty to faceless terrorists, a statement in response to calls from northern leaders that the presidency should make amnesty its next option of settling its scores with the sect.
