The Catholic Bishop of Maiduguri, Rt Rev Dr Oliver Doeme Dashe, has commended the military for their hardwork at crushing Boko Haram insurgents in the Northeast.
He made the commendation Friday, when he paid a visit to General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division Nigerian Army Brigadier General Victor Okechukwu Ezugwu.
Bishop Oliver Dashe noted that the people of Northeast have lost many souls during the insurgency, lamenting that Boko Haram have destroyed homes and rendered many people homeless and jobless.
He thanked the military for their scarifies and used the medium to pray for those the souls of the departed.
The Catholic Bishop praised the gallantry of the military for liberating communities and urged them not to relent in their efforts until peace returns to Borno State.
The visiting Bishop urged the GOC to command with the fear of God.
Responding, the GOC thanked His lordship for his kindness and prayers.
He noted that his fatherly prayers since he resumed at the command have helped the military record success in crushing the insurgents.
In another development a British Army Team lead by Colonel Brown paid official visit to the GOC in his office Friday.
The visit according to Colonel Brown was meant to discuss on areas in which the British can assist Nigerian military to succeed in the fight against terror.
In his remark, the GOC stated that 7 Division is presently succeeding in clearance operation in order to make northeast and Nigeria secured.
He urged the team leader not to relent in assisting the command in terms of logistics, medical and intelligence.
In his remarks, the team leader assured the GOC of British government’s unflinching support in finding a lasting solution to insurgency in Nigeria.
