Suspected Boko Haram gunmen, Saturday evening, attacked a village at Dalori near University of Maiduguri in an attempt to make an inroad to the state capital.
Although spokesman of the 7 division Operation Lafiya Dole, Col. Mustapha Anka said that the Military is on top of the situation, DAILY POST gathered that the insurgents burnt down the village before they were repelled.
It was also gathered that residents of Dalori have started fleeing their homes as well as the internally Displaced persons, IDPs in Bama camp along the Konduga road.
Soldiers, however, prevented them from entering in order not to cause panic in the city.
Residents of Dalori told our correspondent on phone Saturday night that they are back home, but still scared of further attacks despite military’s assurance of protection.
