Boko Haram abducts 3 people in Madagali, Adamawa

Boko Haram insurgents on Thursday, abducted three people from Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa state.

Eye witnesses in Kaya village told Daily Trust that the militants shot a woman and abducted three men at night, while residents fled to the bush and returned in the morning.

“Boko Haram insurgents launched surprise attacked on us this Thursday night at Kaya, which is very close to a military base, they looted food stuff, took a vehicle away and abducted three people,” he said.

The Madagali council chairman, Muhammad Yusuf confirmed two separate attacks on Mildu and Kaya communities, calling for improved security in the villages.

According to Yusuf, local hunters and vigilantes repelled an attack on Mildu, killing a Boko Haram fighter and wounding another.

“I got a distress call at about 7:30pm late evening that the insurgents attacked Milidu village on looting spree though they were repel by our gallant hunters and vigilante that killed one Boko Haram member. I am yet to get details.

“And minutes later I was called again that there was another attack at Kaya , one kilometer away from Gulak, the attackers abducted three residents in Kaya and shot an elderly woman on her leg, she was rushed to nearby hospital,” he added.
