At least, 35 residents of Gwoza in Borno state who were fleeing the town, among whom were a woman and her twins, were abducted by members of the Islamic sect, Boko Haram on Tuesday.
It was gathered that the victims were abducted around the Gwoza hills where they were hiding from the insurgents.
Executive Chairman of Stefanos Foundation, Mr. Mark Lipdo, quoting sources from the residents, said that three of those kidnapped could not survive the tension as they gave up the ghost in the hands of their abductors.
Lipdo said that one Mrs. Maryamu Emmanuel (with newly born set of twins) and one Dauda Vurgwha with three children were part of those unlucky ones kidnapped on Tuesday evening.
He named those kidnapped as Rhoda Habila, Yohanna Ndoka, Esther Habila, Alheri Yohanna Duwara, Grace Ezekiel, Hauwa Amos Ksuda, and Mrs Bitrus Fambiya.
Others were Samaila Dugja, Tabitha Joshua, Nuhu Joshua, Luka Joshua, Aaron Joshua, Hauwa Takawara, Thuma Ghwada, Dughwa Gwajaga, and Dauda Zhigaga.
He however confirmed the death of three of the victims, stating that “some of them managed to escape from their abductors.”
