Boko Haram: 2 killed, four injured in suicide attack in Maiduguri

Four persons were injured yesterday evening following a failed suicide mission by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect, in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, DAILY POST reports.

The attack, which occurred at a checkpoint mounted by the NDLEA personnel was targeted at a commercial motor park in Muna general area, a place already notorious for suicide attacks particularly in recent times.

Eyewitness told our reporter that, the two suicide bombers were killed while four other innocent persons were injured.

“‘it seems that the suicide bombers were actually targeting the motor park but were unlucky. It all went with them.

‘”The first person detonated his bomb targeting a vehicle carrying charcoal, injuring the other bomber and other four persons’, Bukar Goni told DAILY POST

He added that, the second bomber who was injured by the first one later died.

Police anti-bomb personnel on arrival at the scene demobilized the second bomb strapped to the second bomber and restored normalcy.

The injured persons were evacuated to the state specialist hospital for treatment.

However, there’s no official statement from the police or other relevant security agencies as at the time this report.
