Boboye delighted to be appointed as Super Eagles interim coach

Kennedy Boboye has revealed his happiness at being named an interim coach of the Super Eagles.

His appointment was announced by the Nigeria Football Federation on Wednesday.

Boboye will work alongside Imama Amapakabo and Salisu Yusuf, for Nigeria’s international friendly matches against Mali and Luxembourg.

Boboye, who is currently the coach of Abia Warriors, admitted he always dreamt of working with the national team.

“I feel honoured getting a chance to handle the Super Eagles – to be honest, it is a dream come true,” Boboye told Goal.

“This is a reward for my hardwork in the Nigeria Professional Football League and we pray for victory and the wherewithal to change the face of Nigerian football.

“With my coming on board with Imama [Amapakabo] and Salisu [Yusuf], we will ensure things work out and play attractive football.

“Our brand of football has to be offensive and also take the chances that come our way. We have been conceding goals in our recent international matches and that is not good for us too.

“We’re going to work hard to be the best we can – that will make Nigerians happy and send a message that our appointment is not a fluke.”
