Blasphemy: Killers of 8 people in Zamfara will be brought to book – Buhari


President Muhammadu Buhari has described the killing of eight people in a village in Zamfara State as barbaric and unacceptable.

Recall that a student of the Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata-Mafara was said to have made a blasphemous statement against Islam and Prophet Muhammad on Monday and was consequently attacked by a mob and beaten to a pulp.

Also, the man that rushed the victim to a hospital in his car was attacked by the mob, his house set ablaze and eight persons killed.

The President who Reacted to the news on his Twitter handle, @MBuhari, vowed that the perpetrators of the act would be fished out and dealt with.

He wrote, “I received news of the mob killings in Zamfara with great dismay. It is barbaric and unacceptable. I assure that the law will take its course.

“My prayers are with the families of the victims.

“Under my watch we will work to ensure that there is no place for violence in the name of religion, ethnicity, or in any guise whatsoever.”
