Bill Gates’ comment on Nigerian economy: US should be on alert – Omokri

Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, has reacted to the remarks by philanthropist and founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, at the special and expanded National Economic Council, held in Abuja on Thursday.

“The present economic templates being used by the Muhammadu Buhari government do not have the ability to address the unique needs of Nigerians at present,” he said.

However, Omokri took to his Twitter handle to troll President Muhammadu Buhari and also asked President Donald Trump to put the US embassy in Nigeria at alert because “harm may come to Mr Gates as what he just said may be considered a hate speech by the Buhari led government.”

Omokri said: “Apparently, Buhari invited Bill Gates to Aso Rock thinking he‘d praise him, but got the shock of his life when his guest attacked the handling of the economy, saying it doesn’t meet Nigeria’s needs, citing Nigeria as ‘one of the most dangerous places in the world to give birth!’ Is Bill Gates now a wailer like Aisha?

“Dear Buhari, not everyone will lie to you like APC appointees. Is Bill Gates now a wailer? He doesn’t need your money. Truth hurts. Please listen to the bitter truth that your economic plans ‘do not have the ability to address the unique needs of Nigerians at present’ and GO away

“We don’t want to hear that the Buhari administration has withdrawn Bill Gates’ visa because the man was bold enough to tell Buhari that his economic plans are inadequate. We need more people like Mr. Gates who can tell the gerontocrat at the Villa the bitter ugly truth to his face

“Dear Donald Trump, please put your embassy in Nigeria at alert. Bill Gates has just told truth to power and in Nigeria, speaking the truth to Buhari is often considered as ‘hate speech’. I don’t know if you are aware, but the APC has a bill prescribing death for hate speech!”
