Bianca Ojukwu’s mother buried in Enugu


The remains of wife of former civilian governor of old Anambra State, Caroline Chinweolu Onoh, have been committed to mother earth.

The body of Mrs. Onoh, who is also mother of Bianca Ojukwu was laid to rest in Enugu-Ngwo, Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State on Friday amid tears and tributes.

Speaking at the funeral, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, described the late Mrs. Onoh as a virtuous woman of exemplary character who inspired many with her selflessness, humility, simplicity and sincerity.

Among dignitaries at the funeral were Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano and his wife; the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu; the Governor of Ebonyi State who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Bernard Ugwu; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Barr. Geoffrey Onyeama and wife of the Enugu State Governor, Mrs. Monica Ugwuanyi.

Others include former governors of Anambra and Ebonyi States, Mr. Peter Obi and Chief Martin Elechi respectively and Archbishop of Enugu Province (Anglican Communion), Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuma among others.
