The Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has explained why the remaining charges against leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, should be struck out.

Recall that Justice Binta Nyako of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court had on Wednesday struck out six of the 11 count charges levelled against the IPOB leader by the Federal Government.http://dailypost.ng/2017/03/01/biafra-court-strikes-six-charges-nnamdi-kanu-others/

Federal Government had initially docked Kanu, alongside three others, David Nwawuisi, Benjamin Madubugwu and Chidiebere Onwudiwe on an 11 count charges bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony and others.

Reacting to Justice Nyako’s ruling, leader of MASSOB, Uchenna Madu explained that the other charges against Kanu should be dropped because he never committed them.

Madu also commended the group of Igbo leaders of thought under the aegis of “Nzuko umunna” for visiting Kanu in prison and demanding the IPOB leader’s release.http://dailypost.ng/2017/02/28/biafra-demand-immediate-release-nnamdi-kanu-ex-cbn-governor-soludo/

According to Madu, “MASSOB welcomes the striking out of the six charges but insists that all the remaining count charges must be withdrawn because Nnamdi Kanu and others did not commit any offence against Nigeria. MASSOB will continue to press for the release of Nnamdi Kanu and others.

“MASSOB warns that the court should not pacify the DSS and Hausa/Fulani interest but discharge and acquit all pro-Biafra detainees.

“We also salute the representatives of Nzuko Umunna that visited our brother, Nnamdi Kanu recently at kuje prison.”
