Biafra: What Buhari must do to IPOB for attacking Hausas in Rivers – Kano governor, Ganduje

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has urged the Federal Government to probe the alleged attack on Hausa community in Rivers State by suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Ganduje averred that if those behind the attack were not punished, such incident will keep recurring.

He made the call while addressing the leadership of Northern Youth Coalition who paid him a courtesy visit in his office, in Kano.

Ganduje, who noted that two wrongs does not make a right, warned against actions or inaction that would lead to reprisal attacks.

According to Ganduje, “The Federal Government should quickly investigate the violent attacks on Hausa community in Rivers and ensure that those behind it are not only punished but also sanctioned to served as deterrent.

“If those behind the attack are not punished, the case will keep recurring and possibly lead to something else.

“IPOB is wrong in their violentt response to issues, and this cannot be a yardstick upon which somebody could use to cause mayhem against innocent citizens.’’

The governor commended Northern Youth on their stance for unity of Nigeria.

“This disposition of the Northern Youth shows that they stand by one united Nigeria devoid of rancor and instability, and this should be commended and also be emulated,’’ he said.

DAILY POST had earlier reported that Ganduje met with Igbo leaders in Kano.
