The internal wrangling within the fold of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, seems to be getting out of hand as the Uchenna Madu-led faction of the pro-Biafra group has alleged that the Chief Ralph Uwazurike faction was deceiving Ndigbo by claiming to be the mouth piece of MASSOB.
The movement’s National Director for Information, Comrade Samuel Edeson in a statement in Nnewi, Anambra State, said the Uwazurike group were suspended because they incurred the anger of MASSOB leaders and members “over their alleged anti-MASSOB activities,” adding that the factional group had since abandoned the principles upon which the movement was founded.
The pro-Biafra group wondered why the Uwazurike faction which claimed to have formed Biafra Independent Movement, BIM, was still laying claims to MASSOB.
“Can members of Uwazuruike’s BIM at the same time be the followers of MASSOB? They are at best saboteurs of Biafra who cannot be forgiven.
“When they lost in their plan of using MASSOB as a platform to enrich themselves through government leverages, contracts and massive votes canvassing for Goodluck Jonathan, they started parading themselves as factional MASSOB leaders just to create a wrong impression that Uchenna Madu-led reformed MASSOB is divided and unsteady,” Edeson said.
