Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu sponsoring terrorism against Nigeria – DSS tells Court

The Federal High Court, Abuja, was yesterday told that the Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, was sponsoring terrorism against Nigeria.

Counsel to the Department of State Services, DSS, Moses Idakwo, who made this claim, urged the court to disregard a bail application by Kanu’s counsel, Vincent Obeta, because his case has to do with terrorism.

DAILY POST recalls that Kanu had been in the custody of the DSS since his arrest in October for allegedly sponsoring agitations for the actualisation of the sovereign state of Biafra.

Idakwo told the court that the DSS had evidence of bank accounts owned by the accused person where funds, both in dollars and pound sterling, were allegedly used for financing acts of terrorism against the country.

The counsel, while urging the court not to grant the accused bail, said Kanu had dual citizenship of Britain and Nigeria and escape justice if granted bail.

He also said that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is yet to perfect the bail conditions issued by the magistrate court.

The court however adjourned the case till December 17, to deliver verdict on Kanu’s bail application.
