The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, will on September 23, 2016 protest against the continuous incarceration of its embattled leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Recall that Kanu, who also doubles as the Director of Radio Biafra was arrested on October 14, 2015, in Lagos by the Department of State Services, DSS, and had since remained incarcerated despite court rulings granting him freedom.
Disclosing the planned protest in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, the group’s Directorate of State, DOS, said the protest will hold all over the world except Nigeria where “church services will be held.”
The statement reads, “The Directorate of State, DOS, and the worldwide family members of the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) have declared 23rd Sept,2016 for Biafrans worldwide protest against the continued detention of our leader mazi Nnamdi Kanu and for the freedom of Biafra people.
