Biafra: Further attack on Clark will incur our wrath – Ijaw Youths warn Nnamdi Kanu

Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, has warned leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, against further attacks on Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark.

IYC led by Oweilaemi Pereotubo, said Kanu should watch his tongue or risk its anger.

Kanu had condemned Clark for demanding 13 percent control, saying the region should be in total control of its resources.

“Edwin Clark never asked me why I am stopping Anambra state election, because if he had asked me, I will tell him that as old as he is, I want to set him free.

“Edwin Clark is fighting for resource control of 13 percent, may be moved to 15 percent, Nnamdi Kanu is fighting for freedom of Ijaw people, so that they can control their resources 100% through our freedom”‎, he had said‎.

Reacting, IYC told journalists in Warri, Delta State, that it will not accept the use of ‘slave’ to describe Clark.

Pereotubo noted that the Ijaw leader only cautioned Kanu not to further marginalise the Igbos by asking them to boycot the November governorship election in Anambra State.

“Chief Clark was only giving wise counsel for Kanu to stop the move of trying to deny the political rights of the Anambra State people.

“We, the Ijaw, have what it takes to liberate ourselves and do not need help from IPOB,” he said.

Pereotubo further asked Kanu to study the history of the Civil War.

“It was one single Ijaw man, Major Jasper Adaka Boro, that stopped the invading Biafran soldiers from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and chased them back,” he added.

He advised Kanu to have another look at the geography of the South-East and exert his effort in liberating the Igbos.
