The Indigenous People of Bifara, IPOB, has lampooned the people of Ebonyi State for spurning the sit-at-home order it passed.
The group had in a circular issued few days ago, asked Ndigbo nationwide to spend the day indoor in protest against the continuous detention of the leader of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
The directive, however, witnessed non-compliance as normal activities and vehicular movements were unperturbed across Ebonyi State.
The Coordinator of IPOB, Mr. Ugochukwu Nweke while reacting to the development, described the people of Ebonyi as myopic and coward in the struggle for the actualization of Biafra.
“Ebonyi People are myopic but we the Indigenous People of Biafra are resolute, we cannot succumb to all manner of threats, intimidations and harassments by security agents and the Nigeria government.
“We are unstoppable and we cannot mind Ebonyi people who are not concerned on Biafra course, they have never behaved like Igbos”, he told Vanguard.
Checks around the state on Thursday show that public and civil servants were also seen on their duty posts while business activities boomed unhindered.
The presence of heavily armed policemen was seen in strategic locations including the popular Nkaliki where MASSOB office is located.
However, at Water Works and Ogoja roads, there were reports of teargas shot by security agents to disperse some groups suspected to be members of IPOB and MASSOB in the State.
