A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA) Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, has slammed South-East governors over their decision to proscribe the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
He said the action may not lead to the end of activities of Biafra agitators.
He urged the governors to take a more holistic approach towards ending the spate of agitation for Biafra.
Addressing journalists yesterday in Oba, Idemili South council of Anambra state, the Igbo socio-cultural leader, attributed the perennial call for actualisation of Biafra to the yearning of the souls who died during war for proper burial.
He said only a befitting burial and memorial would appease the Biafran spirit which had taken over minds of most youths across the South East and South South regions.
“There is need for them to unanimously decide on how the souls of those who lost their lives during the civil war between 1967-1970 and related struggle would be reburied and appeased.
“But the governors have not done enough research in before their decision to proscribe the IPOB, there is a spiritual aspect of what is going on, the souls that died during the war are still hovering because they have not been recognised and buried.
“As a spiritually person, I can tell you that those souls that were lost are still alive, they have possessed our youths that is why they calling for Biafra even at the risk of their lives.
“I am therefore calling on the governors in the old Eastern region states to unite and put an end to this agitation by setting up a memorial for dead Biafra soldiers so that they can be appeased and allow the living to have peace.
“This is done all over the world including her Catholic Church, every soul deserves respect even in death,” he said.
