The Senator-elect for the Benue South Senatorial District, Senator David Mark has again reiterated his commitment to quality legislation and representation that would better the lives of the Idoma people.
He pledged not to betray the trust and confidence of the people.
Addressing a press conference in his residence in Otukpo on Sunday shortly after he was declared winner by the INEC returning Officer, Senator Mark said the election had come and gone and that he had put politics behind him.
According to him, “what is therefore paramount at the moment is the development of Idoma land”.
Why appreciating the good people of Benue South for their show of love and solidarity which was equally demonstrated at the poll, Senator Mark also acknowledged the role of the media in the just concluded senatorial rerun.
The former Senate President also extended arm of fellowship to his opponent and all those who fought him at the poll, saying the development of Idoma land was very paramount.
He urged the entire people of Zone C to join hands in making the district better than what it was yesterday.
“I beg and plead with those who politically fought me to join hands, because it’s our unity that will be our strength. I want to thank the entire Idoma Nation. Thank you, the media men who covered the election.
“The election has come and gone, result declared and it’s gone. I have put it right behind me. I have to move forward now and think of what to do, to make the Idoma nation greater than it is today.
“The young boys and young girls who stood solidly behind me, I want to appreciate you. I enjoin you to come on board, it’s our collective efforts that can move this nation forward”, he added.
The Okpokpowulu k’Idoma had earlier led a congregation of worshipers in his chapel where he thanked and dedicated his electoral victory unto the Almighty God and the good people of Benue South.
The mass was attended by Senator Tunde Ogbeha, Senator Muktar, The Enewa K’Idoma, Hon. Joe Ojobo, Hon. Egli Ahubi, members of his immediate family as well as a few other Senators both of APC and PDP who were in the state to show solidarity to him.
