Benue South: Conference of Idoma Producers back Senator Mark, ask Onjeh to wait till 2019

Ahead of the February 20th rerun election in Benue South Senatorial District, the Conference of Idoma Producers, an umbrella body of Movie Producers and Directors of Idoma extraction, has thrown its weight behind Senator David Mark.

Addressing newsmen on Thursday shortly after its emergency meeting in Lekki, Lagos State, the National President of the association, Comrade Johnson Agada (a.k.a. Manex) said the conference had taken into considerations the very many benefits of the Idoma nation under the leadership of Senator Mark and decided that it was only germane for the people to reciprocate that gesture through balloting.

Citing the laudable achievements of Senator Mark to include, but not limited to the facilitation of hundreds of Federal appointments of Benue South people to various parastatals and many developmental projects, the Ogbadibo born Nollywood Director cum Producer lambasted the APC led Federal Government for revoking the Federal University of Health Sciences that Senator Mark laboured tirelessly to attract to Idoma land and halting the Loko-Owetu multibillion naira bridge also attracted by the Senator.

He, however, said the association had nothing against Comrade Daniel Onjeh of the APC, “just that his time has not come as he would not be able to fight the Idoma course”.

“This election is beyond party line, it is purely an Idoma national issue. Distinguished Senator David Mark should be allowed to return to the red chamber. Dan Onjeh has nothing to offer the Idoma nation for now, it’s just for his personal interest. Zone C will only waste the remaining 3 years and some months”, the President posited.

Comrade Agada who is also the Founder of Idoma Nollywood also said his association had already reached out to many Idoma sons and daughter at home and in diaspora to put hands together and vote Senator David Mark come February 20th.

“We have also resolved that we shall all go home next week to embark on a tour for one – on – one sensitization of the people at the grassroots. That’s what we have come here to discuss”, Agada said.
