Benue Reps speak on dumping APC

The lawmaker representing Gboko/Tarka federal constituency in the House of Representatives, John Dyegh has reacted to report that his colleagues from the Benue State plan to leave the All Progressives Congress, APC, following the security breaches and killings in the state.

Dyegh, told newsmen in Abuja that, no lawmaker was planning of leaving the party for another.

According to him, if there was such decision, it would not be a bedroom matter.

He said “It will be a public matter. I’m not aware of any plan or meeting by my colleagues to leave APC.

”I’m from Benue State, and I’ve not attended any such meeting. So, I can say it’s not true.”

When asked if the people of Benue State would still vote President Muhammadu Buhari if he decides to contest in 2019, Dyegh said “I wish I were the one controlling or giving direction to voters in Benue, I would have answered that question. As it is, I don’t think I can answer that question.

“But I know that the people are not happy; they’re not happy with what’s happening, not because they hate the man, Buhari, but because they’re being killed on daily basis and nobody seems to care about it.”
