Benue: Police confirm seven dead, six injured in latest attack

The Benue State Police Command has confirmed that seven persons were killed in a fresh attack on Tse Adough, a village in Mbachom, Yaav ward, across River Katsina-Ala in Kwande LGA of the state.

The command also confirmed that six persons were injured and several houses set ablaze in the attack believed to have been carried out by bandits.

Moses Yamu, PPRO, Benue State command told DAILY POST on Sunday night that “We wish to report that between 0400hrs and 0500hrs of date 3/6/2018, some Armed Militia attacked Tse Adough, a village in Mbachom, Yaav ward, across River Katsina-Ala in Kwande LGA.

“Seven persons were killed, while six (6) persons were injured. Some houses were also set ablaze.

“A female member of the village believably abducted has been seen. Efforts ongoing to apprehend the suspected Murderous Gang, while security has been beefed up in the area.”

Earlier, the Chairman, Kwande Local Government Council of Benue, Mr Terdoo Kenti, who also confirmed the killing, said the attackers abducted a woman during the incident on Saturday night at Tseadough village.

Tseadough is a village in Mbachom, Yaav Council Ward near Jato Aka, the ancestral home of Tiv people in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue state.
