Benue: Ortom inaugurates boards, commissions, councils, others

Governor Samuel Ortom yesterday inaugurated 19 chairmen and numerous members of Boards, Commissions, Councils and Committees of different government agencies.

Performing the ceremony at the New Banquet Hall of Benue Peoples House Makurdi, the Governor charged those inaugurated to swiftly deploy their experiences to respond to all the challenges confronting their areas of jurisdiction in order to meet the yearnings and expectations of the people.

While congratulating them on their selection out of many, Governor Ortom urged them to make sacrifices and boost internally generated revenues to enable government meet her obligations, assuring that his administration would also fulfill its statutory responsibilities to enable them perform.

The Governor tasked leaders at various levels to spread their nets and provide shade for others in order to attract God’s blessings.

He also advised leaders to be pleasant in their words in the course of addressing issues, stressing that such words could go a long way in dousing tension.

Responding on behalf of members, Chairman Board of College of Education Katsina-Ala and State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Abba Yaro, promised on behalf of other chairmen and members to do their best to ensure the governor succeed.
